My storage jars are simple forms for simple tasks. With exception of the clear glaze inside my White stoneware jar I use no glaze. Instead I saggar fire these pieces. This is a beautiful process whereby the piece is put inside a covered container and surrounded by combustible material. As this material burns off it leaves random markings. No two are ever alike. This process sometimes results in loss of a piece; nevertheless, the risk is worth the beautiful results produced by Saggar firing.
